Park & Kensington Terraces Student Residences

Newcastle University

location | Newcastle  year | 2014  value | £13.7m  size | 11,620 m2

This new development regenerates the north eastern edge of the city centre campus with a 350 bed facility which includes the refurbishment of the existing Kensington Terrace along with three new buildings. The original Park Terrace is replaced with a courtyard building which, with a new mews block and a small pavilion connected to the north of Kensington Terrace, re-define an original right of way and define a semi-public square as the focal point of this new student community.

Designed to achieve EPC A rating, the language is restrained and ordered, with locally sourced bricks and carefully proportioned windows, pitched roofs and zinc clad dormer windows. The previously underused Drummond Square has been re-energised as a garden space for all the occupants to enjoy.

Satisfied customers, quality facilities and services, professional staff.
