We were appointed by Newcastle University to create new facilities for their Accommodation and Hospitality Services, with a clear vision: affordable, simple, and stunning.
This project marked a significant milestone for the university, as it was the first to achieve an EPC 'A' energy performance rating and incorporate PassivHaus principles. Our design not only met these ambitious energy goals but also revitalised an underused and neglected corner of the campus, transforming it into a vibrant, sustainable space that aligns with the university’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. We’re proud of this collaboration which has delivered impactful, forward-thinking designs.

1 Kensington & Park Terrace
This development revitalises the northeast city campus with a 350-bed facility, refurbishing Kensington Terrace and adding three new buildings. Replacing Park Terrace with a courtyard building, a mews block, and a pavilion, it creates a semi-public square. The scheme features locally sourced materials and rejuvenates Drummond Square as garden space.
