Park Campus Masterplan

University of Northampton

location | Park Campus, Northampton   year | 2016

The University of Northampton currently operates from two campus to the north of the city centre-Avenue and Park. It has six academic schools-Arts, Health, Social Sciences, Business, Education and Science and Technology.

The redevelopment of Park Campus is part of a wider programme that sees the University of Northampton relocating to the exciting new Waterside Campus in Northampton’s Enterprise Zone. The University will be operational on the new site in 2018 and Park Campus will be redeveloped for further housing in the local area.

Park Campus covers an area of 27.5 ha and will provide accommodation for up to 800 dwellings.

The design has been developed in direct response to the opportunities and constraints presented by the site. All existing protected trees and boundary landscape is retained to structure the development and provide a mature landscape setting from the outset.

At the core of the development is the creation of a ‘village green’ that will be accessible by the wider community. The 'green' will extend the existing landscape at the heart of the campus and will provide a focus for the development.

The Park campus planning application will be submitted in outline form in April 2014 and the phased development of Park campus will commence in 2019.
