Architect
Why architecture:
I do not know the exact moment I decided to become an architect. Maybe it was while doing puzzles, or painting, or watching the Catalan human towers, but it seems that I was always attracted by the composition, and how smaller parts fit together to create a beautiful object.
Inspiration:
I was born and raised on the Mediterranean seaside, in a beautiful Roman town called Tarragona. I suppose the time I spent walking between the Amphitheatre and the Roman walls awoke my interest in materials and textures. Furthermore, I have always been fascinated by how architecture tells the story of a city. From enjoying haute cuisine below the circusĀ“ grandstand to withdrawing money below a roman arch, I love the artistry in blending new constructions with the remains of the past.
My next home was Barcelona, where I studied architecture and specialised in building restoration. It was then when I developed a frantic curiosity about the city, every building, every urban space, and every piece that it was composed of. I understood the importance of being an architect, the impact that we have on people, and the legacy that we leave.
Every project is a new challenge for me. I enjoy learning about the diversity of options and ideas from my colleagues, and how the best solution always arises from a good team effort.
A bit about me:
My perfect Sunday entails hiking, visiting a food market, and chocolate of some kind. I am very fond of the atmosphere that I discovered in Cambridge. I like the size of the city, the large number of green areas and, above everything, I really enjoy going everywhere by bike.
