pre-MCW
I came to the UK after working for more than 11 years in the Netherlands. The Dutch architecture scene with its bold and experimental concepts has been my prime inspiration. I have worked for some time in Kees Christiaanse’s practice KCAP at Rotterdam and I continue to believe in strong design strategies, the importance of quality public space and simple inexpensive detailing.
I am trained as architect in my hometown Munich. A defining year out as an Erasmus student at the Technical University Delft made me return to the Netherlands immediately after graduation. Having completed a number of projects varying from a public library to commercial office complexes, residential developments in East London and large scale master planning it was time to make the move to Cambridge.
MCW
I really do enjoy the team work, progressive thinking and challenging projects at MCW. I feel that I can use both my conceptual skills and technical knowledge.
And never have I worked in a practice where all colleagues (and partners) get along so well.
outside MCW
I have a 7-year old boy and a 5-year old little girl. Do I need to say more: they and their busy social life keep me occupied. Our little international family shares our time between Finland, Germany and the UK. We are travelling a lot, strikingly our son had a passport before he was 2 weeks old.
I like skiing and mountains, films and Bavarian beer.
